Exposure Control Programs
Fortune 500 Steel Manufacturer
Routine sampling at a Fortune 500 steel manufacturer identified potential employee formaldehyde exposures in excess of regulatory guidelines. As a result, a formal exposure control plan was developed to provide affected employees with information related to their potential exposures. Specifically, the plan included identification of restricted work areas, training requirements and materials, provision and proper use/care of personal protective equipment, and engineering control plans for long-term solution to reducing employees’ potential exposures (without the need for respiratory protection).
